Company Directors:

Ben Moores

Co-Founder/Director of Just Add Water (Theatre) Company and Shot in the Dark Theatre

Movement Director and collaborator for Norfox Theatre, the Library Theatre's youth theatre company

Former Acting Tutor and Facilitator for the British Youth Film Academy and Contact Theatre

Ben spent his teenage years training in classical Dance, Drumming, Performing Arts and Singing.  Having toured the country with Musical Theatre and Cabaret he moved to Manchester to expand his education and further his training in other areas of performance.  Through helping to form Just Add Water and establish Shot in the Dark he found a platform for his freshly formed poetry talents and how to combine them with his vast array of skills in movement, voice and music.  After three runs at the Edinburgh Festival with Just Add Water and two at the Contact Theatre and Library Theatre with Shot in the Dark, Ben wrote a full length play called:  Why Me?  His writing was nominated for an award at the Buxton Fringe and was developed further, culminating in an ambitious and successful run at the Contact Theatre.

Alongside his exciting and thought provoking work as a performer and writer Ben has developed his own workshop programs and is now a longserving collaborator for the Library Theatre's Youth Theatre:  Norfox.  Expanding on his roles as a facilitator for The British Youth Film Academy and Contact Theatre he has again combined his other skills and is involved in Research & Development, Devising and Writing for Norfox's shows.

Ben, Niven and Tom where brought together for the telling of the fascinating true story of artist, Joash Woodrow in autumn 2011.  As part of the newly formed company, Small Things, members of Just Add Water and the now disbanded Shot in the Dark found themselves working on the same project, culminating in an intimate ensemble piece in the Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester.

Tom Barry

Co Founder/Director of Just Add Water (Theatre) Company

Actor and collaborator for Folka Theatre & Shot in the Dark Theatre

Former Head of Acting & Casting Director for the British Youth Film Academy

Long before discovering he wanted to go in to performance, Tom trained in Karate and football untill leaving school.  Before attending drama school a few years later he worked extensively in amateur, community and street theatre.  Drama school in London and Manchester and the creation of Just Add Water followed.  Having graduated and taken Just Add Water to three Edinburgh Fringe Festivals Tom and Ben took on several seperate projects and directions.  Tom attended many workshops and courses with practitioners from all over the world in Physical and Experimental Theatre and Clowning.  This lead to work as Casting Director & Head of Acting for The British Youth Film Academy as well as workshop programs for Just Add Water.

Tom joined forces again with Ben for Shot in the Dark's production of Lost/Found and then helped Felicity with her new company's maiden production:  Folka Theatre's 'Projekt Jude', a devised production intended to encourage awareness of the Holocaust and mass genicide across the world

After a couple of years on other projects Just Add Water developed Why Me? with Matt and Niven who they'd worked with in Shot in the Dark.  Buxton, Cheshire and Manchester followed before each member's continued success on individual paths.

Tom and Felicity recently travelled across the world exploring new communities and cultures before returning to embark on new projects and breathe new life into already established ones.  After working on Small Things' production at the Whitworth Art Gallery, Tom will work on several projects in Cheshire as an actor and director.

“Intriguing as it is confusing, and those looking for something slightly off the beaten track would benefit from giving it a chance”

"Churning up the soul with a pulsating beat"

“Each performer demonstrates their point with remarkable strength and agility”

“Comic and mesmeric”

“It may be baffling, but it is enjoyably so, as the delighted puzzlement in the bar afterwards attested. I think this may be a show I'll still be mulling over long after the Fringe has moved on”

“Aspects of our lives are ripped apart in glorious satire”

“Coming across as something between cabaret, sketch show comedy, improvisation, dance and story-telling”
